Contact lense Technology

Here is one of many articles on the web about contact lenses being developed that provide computer-aided vision, exiting in terms of the ability to layer virtual worlds in front of the human eye with no obviouse screen or boundary. The technology of the AVIE and the neccesity of the screen seem to soon be obsolete????

Its weird to think that this could eventually render things such as mobile phones and laptops obsolete. The ability to interact with the digital world no matter where you are, who you are or at whatever time is incredible. Is this the humans ultimate immersion with technology?

It seems the plausible and direct way to intergrate visuals into the human body without physicaly opening the body e.g. directly effecting the brain with electronics

You never know, some day a tech may be developed that is able to interface directly with our brains and create seemingly 3-Dimensional, interactive hallucinations; thus rendering these contact lenses obsolete.

Interesing find though, Zac. Shame I have issues with contact lenses (I've tried it once, but couldn't stop blinking trying to get them in); I'd love to try this lil' gizmo out someday.

That would be so weird if in the future we were completely dependent on it, so it would only be at birth that you enter the world without it. And just like language, you are taught to use it asap to survive in life!
